CarbonCrete

Compare the carbon footprint of standard concrete mixes at a glance.

CarbonCrete Analytics Tool is a practical response to one of the built environment’s biggest challenges, concrete emissions, which contribute around 7–8% of global CO₂ and a significant share of NZs footprint. To put it into perspective, if the cement industry were a country, it would rank as the third or fourth largest emitter globally.

CarbonCrete provides a fast solution for specifying concrete that meets technical requirements, minimises carbon footprint, and optimises logistics from supplier to site. NZ’s Concrete Carbon Comparison Tool is CarbonCrete.

A circular infographic titled 'Climate Collaboration Directory' from 'The Lever Room,' displaying various categories and organizations related to climate action, with sections for 'Regulators,' 'Business Solutions,' 'Civil Society,' and 'Media & Creatives,' all centered around 'Intermediaries' and referencing the Paris Agreement.

Climate Collaboration Directory

In response to the large amount of interest and engagement received in relation to New Zealand’s first Climate Directory, published in 2022, we’ve provided a 2023 update.

This Climate Directory map was created for two core purposes:

  1. To help accelerate the changes we need by uplifting coordinated action at scale across Aotearoa New Zealand.

  2. To demonstrate the growing momentum from iwi, business and communities actively advancing climate solutions. These organisations are already helping to lead us to a better future.

Climate Statement and Transition Plan

We are working alongside Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to advance emission reductions through a foundational Climate Position Statement and Climate Transition Action Plan. Through this mahi, we have developed a robust taiao climate plan guided by five principles and seven measurable action areas.  Click to download the Climate Position Statement.

Impact Ecosystem Map for Aotearoa New Zealand

Today there is a need to transform our economy and our financial system in ways that provide for a more just society and a sustainable way of living on this earth.

A regenerative impact economy is one that provides for environmental, social as well as economic wellbeing. In other words, an impact economy ensures that no one falls short on life’s essentials (from food and housing to healthcare), while ensuring that collectively we don’t overshoot the boundaries of the planets life-supporting systems, on which we fundamentally depend – such as a stable climate, fertile soils, and a protective ozone layer.

Aotearoa’s Impact Economy is grounded in the principles of  Mātauranga Māori, -Māori Wisdom. From a Māori perspective, everyone including the business community is viewed as belonging to one ecosystem- the economic concept of externalities doesn’t exist. Encompassing the Maori world view allows us to take a systems perspective to development.

If successful, New Zealand’s Impact Economy will advance progress towards the collection of 17 global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all".

Purpose of this Ecosystem Map:

This map was created so that every New Zealander can see where they fit within an impact economy ecosystem.

Once people can see how important they are in the ecosystem, it is our aim that the map can then be used to help create system-level solutions to the challenges we face.
