Cheshire Architects undertakes a diverse range of award-winning projects across a breadth of scales and contexts. The studio seeks the extraordinary rather than the perfect. Care for people and te taiao is deeply embedded in its work.

The Lever Room has worked alongside Cheshire Architects to develop an Impact Strategy and practical approach for integrating sustainability more deeply into its projects, design decisions and studio operations.

Our work has included undertaking multiple whole-building life cycle assessments (LCAs) to measure the carbon impact of Cheshire projects and identify opportunities to reduce emissions through choices about structure, materials and design. We have also helped develop practical methods for considering carbon earlier in the design process, when there is the greatest opportunity to influence a building’s impact.

Through TILT, our integrated carbon management programme, we have measured Cheshire Architects’ organisational carbon footprint, identified practical reduction opportunities and supported the studio to achieve independently verified Net Zero Scope 1 & 2 certification.

Together, this work is helping Cheshire strengthen both the impact of its own operations and the much greater influence it can have through the buildings, places and communities it helps create.
