Product Carbon Footprint Modelling
One New Zealand is a New Zealand telecommunications company. One NZ is the largest wireless carrier in New Zealand, accounting for 38% of the country’s mobile share market in 2021.
We’ve been commissioned to support the One NZ team on emissions reporting, setting science-based targets under the SBTi, and developing a practical plan to meet the reduction target.
The project includes a fulsome measurement of Scope 3 gaps, assessing the best-fit Scope 3 target mechanism, and submitting targets for validation. In addition to the above, we are delivering a clear and succinct GHG Reduction Implementation Plan. The purpose of this Implementation Plan is to provide a clear, evidence-based approach to meet selected SBTi targets.
Our work with One NZ has also extended into product-level carbon modelling, including an avoided emissions assessment for One NZ’s refurbished phones pilot. This assessment compared refurbished devices with equivalent new devices to quantify the carbon benefit of choosing refurbished over new, helping One NZ strengthen the customer proposition, support credible communications, and connect circular economy activity to Scope 3 decision-making.
Together, this work shows how Lever Room supports climate action beyond reporting. We help organisations build the evidence base for emissions reduction, commercial decision-making and credible market communication — from organisational GHG measurement and science-based targets through to product-level analysis that can support lower-carbon propositions.
